A collection dedicated to Jiu Valley mining, the industrial context from which local tourism grew. An indoor visit, good for bad weather.

Limestone gorges at the Jiu Valley entrance to the Retezat, valued for climbing and for short walks along the water.

A biosphere reserve with more than eighty glacial lakes, among them Bucura, the largest glacial lake in the country. The trails need a full day and serious kit.
